⚖️ Responsible Use Policy

Responsible Use Policy

This policy establishes the ethical and responsible use standards for all ARMA Platform features, particularly those involving recording, monitoring, and evidence management.

Effective: January 1, 2025Last Updated: March 1, 2025

01.Our Commitment to Responsible Technology

Full Stack Tech & Solutions LLC and the ARMA Public Safety Initiative L3C are committed to developing and deploying safety technology that respects human dignity, privacy rights, and civil liberties. We believe that safety technology must be used responsibly, transparently, and in full compliance with the law.

This Responsible Use Policy establishes the ethical framework within which ARMA Platform features must be used. Compliance with this policy is a condition of using FSTS services.

02.Dignity and Non-Discrimination

ARMA Platform features must not be used to target, monitor, harass, or discriminate against individuals based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Institutional deployments of ARMA Sentinel must be operated with equal application across all individuals present in monitored facilities. Selective monitoring based on protected characteristics is prohibited and may violate federal and state civil rights laws.

03.Transparency and Notice

Where required by law, and as a matter of responsible practice, users of ARMA monitoring and recording features should provide appropriate notice to individuals who may be recorded.

Institutional deployments are encouraged to post visible signage indicating that safety monitoring is in operation, even where not legally required. Transparency builds trust and reduces legal risk.

ARMA Alert users should be aware that passengers may not be aware of active recording. Users are encouraged to inform passengers when cabin recording is active.

04.Proportionality

Monitoring and recording should be proportionate to the safety need being addressed. Continuous, pervasive monitoring of individuals beyond what is necessary for legitimate safety purposes is discouraged and may raise legal concerns.

Organizations should implement data minimization practices — collecting and retaining only the recordings and data necessary for their stated safety purpose.

05.Evidence Integrity and Honesty

ARMA evidence systems are designed to support truth and justice. Users must not use ARMA systems to fabricate, stage, selectively edit, or misrepresent incidents.

Evidence files must be shared honestly and completely with legal counsel and, where required, with courts. Selective disclosure of evidence that misleads courts or legal proceedings may constitute obstruction of justice.

If you discover that evidence captured through ARMA systems does not support your position in a legal proceeding, you are still obligated to disclose it as required by applicable legal and ethical rules.

06.Vulnerable Populations

Special care must be taken when ARMA systems are deployed in environments involving vulnerable populations, including children, elderly individuals, patients, and people with disabilities.

ARMA Domus elderly monitoring features must be used with the knowledge and consent of the monitored individual where they have capacity to consent. Deployment without consent of a competent adult may raise legal and ethical concerns.

Educational deployments of ARMA Sentinel must comply with FERPA and applicable state student privacy laws. Student data must not be retained beyond legally permitted periods.

07.Reporting Concerns

If you become aware of any use of ARMA Platform features that appears to violate this Responsible Use Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, please report it to:
